The chess pieces have been expertly crafted from graded sheesham and boxwood, are double weighted and have excellent balance. They have tall and elegant proportions and have been finished off with a natural polish that is flawless. The chess board has been manufactured to exacting tolerances using veneers of fine walnut and maple, it features a satin finish that is robust enough to withstand many years of chess playing. In fact the satin finish on the board stands in the most amazing contrast to the natural shine of the hardwood chessmen which results in a highly attractive match of board & pieces. The dimensions, finish and specification of the board have been made without compromise, it’s the ideal partner for the superb chessmen that adorn it.
 

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
