The chessmen are made from the highest grade black ebony and clean grained boxwood. The value of ebony continues to rise as it becomes more and more scarce, making this set an excellent investment opportunity. They have been expertly finished and polished to a natural shine. No lacquer is used to create this superb finish, it’s the meticulous hand polishing of the dense hard woods that have created such an immaculate finish, something you won’t find in entry level sets.These stunning chessmen represent the finest quality available and will sit perfectly upon the 20 inch lacquered blue erable board.

The beautiful Luxury chess board has a high gloss finish and is constructed from wooden veneers of blue stained erable wood and light maple. Perfect for accompanying with the Windsor Series Staunton chessmen.

The chess board has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.

This set is complemented with a perfectly constructed laminated wenge coloured large wooden Chess Piece case. Manufactured by the famous family run company Manopoulos of Greece, you can rest assured it has been well made by expert craftsmen. Featuring a large compartment together with the addition of brass colour hinges and the Manopoulos signature brass clasps to keep the lid closed, the resulting product is a timeless classic.

Please note that when the chessmen are placed in the box it is normal and intentional for them to lay down on top of each other. They are NOT intended to stand up inside the box.
