It’s as if our 20 inch (50 cm) Black Anegre and Palisander Deluxe Chess Board was created just for these pieces. The dark and golden tones, achieved by burning the boxwood prior to carving, are complemented by the similar tones in the beautiful high gloss Spanish board.

This burning method together with the varnish finish gives these pieces a striking and luxurious effect and makes them ornamental in their own individual way.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
