A wonderfully detailed mythological chess set from the Italian craftsmen at Italfama.
When Helen Of Troy (whose face was said to have launched a thousand ships) was taken from her husband King Meneleus of Sparta by Paris Of Troy, the Greek army waged a brutal war against the city of Troy. The mythical siege was supposed to have been started due to a quarrel between the gods, and lasted for a decade, including the iconic Trojan Horse infiltration of the city.
The masterful chess craftsmen at Italfama in Florence, Italy have created these two incredible themed chess armies, the Greeks and the Spartans, skilfully crafted from resin and hand-painted to give the level of detail and finish expected from the very most detailed miniatures. This set is sure to be a hit with any fans of ancient history, mythology and chess!
Please note that as these pieces are hand painted, there may be some inconsistencies in the level of detail and colour and therefore your pieces may be very slightly different from the images shown. Any inconsistencies however are minimal.
