These wonderful chess pieces are based on the characters from Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’. These childhood stories were penned to amuse the young children of The Dean of Christ Church where Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (aka Carroll) was employed as a Lecturer. You will recognise all the main characters that have been brought to life in crushed stone resin with a unique pewter and copper finish.
These unique pieces have been matched with a stunning high gloss 19.7 inch Spanish board with black anegre and maple squares surrounded by a beautiful palisander border. This is an enviable chess set for any collector or chess enthusiast.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
