The Sicilian Series chessmen are a superb rendering of the classic Staunton design of chess piece. They have been elegantly carved by one of the world’s finest wooden chess piece makers from quality Indian rosewood and boxwood and they are double weighted. The quality of detail and finish is simply outstanding on these pieces. We have combined these luxurious chessmen with our subtle, but beautifully finished walnut and maple chess board. This board has a relatively small footprint for the square size, making it superb for players who want a quality, full tournament size chess set that isn’t too big for their table.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
