Product Description
Beautifully finished large Greek-Roman Army metal chess set presented in a wooden cabinet. The chess pieces are made from brass and nickel plated metal pieces. The detail is excellent and features the Emperor or King, his Queen, Centurions or Officers and Infantry or foot soldiers. The rook is a classic ancient civilisation pillar and the knight a Steed mounted Standard Bearer.
The chess board is also made from galvanised metal and has a distinctive burnished olive green finish and raised feet on each corner. The whole set is housed on a bespoke wooden hinged cabinet which can be used as a platform to play from. Made in Greece by world famous games maker Manopoulos.
Please note the red felt tray in our images has now been replaced by a more superior, protective black foam to protect these beautiful pieces and board.
